Slidell Real Estate Abundant Ecology Because of its proximity to the shopping and entertainment that the French Quarter and New Orleans have, Slidell homes for sale aren't on the market for long. However, the appeal of living here is more than just that. Although Slidell is very close to those two areas, it is lucky to be far away enough to still have some isolation. When you want to feel one with your roots and all that surrounds you, a simple walk by oaks, pines, and flowers can rejuvenate your spirit. The ecology and life you are engulfed by is certainly calming and lets you get back in touch with what really matters.
The waterways in Slidell are open to those who like to catch fish, crabs, shrimps, and craw fish. Boating and swimming are also inviting activities on the glass-like waters. You can take a boat tour on almost 70,000 acres of the Honey Island Swamp where you can marvel at the diverse wildlife. Turtles, Alligators, Black Bears, Bald Eagles, and Minks are just a few of the animals that will great you.
To see the most undisturbed swampland in the area, an easy drive northeast of Slidell is the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge which covers 36,000 acres of the Pearl River Basin. This hardwood forest has several bayous and is great for family trips and adventures. As you go about your exploring, make it a point to look for several endangered species that have their habitat in the Refuge.
In Slidell, you don't have to go far to rough it up, in fact a lot of times you can just step out to your backyard. For more information about Slidell Real Estate visit: | |
